Joseph lives with his wife Anne and daughter Renée in the wilderness where they earn their living as trappers. They find it difficult to make ends meet because, according to them, their work is being hindered by a wolf. While Joseph sets out to track down the predator, Anne and Renée struggle with his prolonged absence. One day, Anne finds the injured Lou who has been left for dead.

The film takes a while to get going, but after that the case remains under steam.
Joseph (Devon Sawa) and his family - wife Anne (Camille Sullivan) and daughter Renee (Summer H. Howell) - live in the remote Canadian wilderness as fur trappers, where the struggle for survival is always real.
And their lives don't get any easier when you consider that the furs become cheaper every year, and the materials and basic items become more and more expensive. That is what Joseph and his family are increasingly confronted with.
Then the wolf enters the picture, a wolf they have had a confrontation with before and who does not behave like a normal wolf. So at some point our hunter goes after it alone.
This begins the inevitable and irreversible problems for our three.
Then it turns out to be a true horror film!
The film has good and strong acting, the story has many layers in the story, it is based on family, nature, a grand forest, a grim story and the ultimate form of revenge!

Nice original and raw story that is told with a neat arc of tension - and remains exciting until the not exactly very predictable ending. Nicely dark, grim and gray told with a few pleasant characters and a strong atmosphere - where the soundtrack with the usual horror sounds adds to the atmosphere. The acting is also good, they may not be top actors, but they are good in their roles and portray them believably.
