A short film Hitchcock made for the British Ministry of Information. It was written in French, thus aimed at a French audience. Viewed from that perspective, it's a highly informative (propaganda) film about what happened during WWII. Nothing is what it seems. Initially, we're presented with a sequence of events, about which the viewer can form their own opinion. However, the surprising truth unfolds later. Forewarned is forearmed; that seems to be the message. A competently made film, of course. Despite the subject matter—and its director—it's not at all about creating suspense; it does, however, provide a glimpse into the complex struggle between the French Resistance and the occupation (including the French collaborators).
