Amber Appleton remains an optimist, even if her personal life is much less stable than it seems at first glance. Amber is a musically gifted high school student with aspirations to attend Carnegie Mellon University. She must find her beloved drama club led by Mr. Combine Franks with working long hours in a donut shop to help her single mother. She also spends time in the local retiree community. When new obstacles arise that threaten her dreams, Amber must learn to rely on the strength of her family.
