This documentary tells the story of Howard Ashman, the brilliant lyricist behind some Disney classics and the creator of musicals including 'Little Shop of Horrors'. Featuring never-before-seen archival footage, personal films and photos, as well as interviews with Howard's friends and family, the film is an intimate look at the life of this Disney legend, his creative drive and the process behind the music. It also examines his childhood in Baltimore, to his formative years in New York and his untimely death from AIDS.

Very nice documentary. I had never heard of Howard Ashman, only Alan Menken. These two men brought the magic of Disney to life for me as a child. It is precisely the films that they have provided with music that have made me a complete Disney fan. Interesting for Disney fans, but also a beautiful image of a man who fought against a terrible disease.
