A Secret Love describes the extraordinary love story of Terry Donahue and Pat Henschel, whose relationship spanned nearly seven decades. Terry played in the women's professional baseball league that inspired the movie A League of There Own. However, this film did not tell the real story of the women who spent most of their lives in the closet. This documentary follows Terry and Pat back to when they first met, during their professional lives in Chicago. Their conservative families and their struggle to marry or not are also discussed. Their coming out at a late age brings new challenges.

Terry Donahue and Pat Henschel fell in love without knowing that homosexuality existed and kept the true nature of their relationship secret from the outside world for more than 65 years. All the more remarkable because Terry Donahue belonged to the first generation of professional female baseball players and had therefore achieved some fame. Now that the end is approaching for them, it is time to come out. This documentary reveals the consequences for the relationship with family members and the changes that openness brings about.
