Jonestown: Terror in the Jungle plot

Four-part documentary about the forced collective suicide in Jonestown, Guyana, led by religious cult leader Jim Jones. After a rather peculiar childhood, sadistic preacher Jim Jones starts the Peoples Temple, a religious sect based on Marxist principles in Indianapolis. Members are simply locked up there and Jones' hunger for power only grows. The press exposes Jones' darker side and triggers a mass exodus to Jonestown. His followers soon realize that it is not the utopia their leader promised.

Very special story about cult leader Jim Jones and his Jonestown community. The series offers a good picture of both the rise and fall of the cult. In terms of production, however, I found this ducumentary a bit less. Too bombastic, especially the music.
