Orpheus' Song plot
Philipp and Enis are best friends and live in Berlin. They win a trip to Greece. They get lost on an excursion on an island. They wander through the woods and find an abandoned village. There they encounter a strange figure, Hercules. They spend the night in a cave. Their dream is very mystical. The next day, nothing between the two will be the same.

A mystical romantic drama about budding love. Cinematography: beautiful images of the sea, coast and forest on the Greek island of Corfu. Scenes: inside the gym, at home and in the hotel, outside on the island, in the forest, in an old (abandoned) village, in a cave and on the street in Berlin. Music: romantic, occasionally exciting film music, in addition fairy-tale melodies of guitar and flute of Hercules. Cast: two good-looking German actors who play friends Enis and Philipp realistically, supporting roles nil.
Plot: Enis and Philipp are gym buddies and regularly work out together. Philipp spontaneously enters an online competition, wins a trip for two to Corfu, Greece and they go on holiday together. They get lost during a hike on the island and meet the Greek Hercules, who claims to live in a cave. Together they drink, fall asleep and later wake up without Hercules. Because their holiday is coming to an end, they have to go back to the hotel. Philip quickly takes a pomegranate from Hercules with him........
Summary: there is a build-up of (sexual) tension and chemistry between both men. The film is not without biblical and mythological metaphors: the reference to mythology (Hercules, Orpheus and nymphs) and the Bible (forbidden fruit, unknown consequences if you eat it, Philipp offers apple to Enis). It's a bit of a shame that they used the Latin name Hercules instead of the Greek name Heracles. I also see a connection between graceful nymphs who seduce men and Eve who seduced Adam with the apple (Philipp is a metaphor for Eve). The story seems superficial but has a deep underlying meaning, the film is quite short (72 min), but beautifully and with a lot of symbolism worked out. As icing on the cake a beautiful erotic beach scene, where the film leaves it unclear whether everything is a mystical dream or reality.......
Message: just a nice feel-good movie about the origins of love.........

The story is not much, but the men play naturally, pure and real. There is a tension between the two and eventually something blossoms. That is beautifully portrayed.
It is DEFINITELY not Brokeback Mountain, far from it. It doesn't go all that deep. But because the men look good and don't play effeminate types, it's fun to watch.
