The subcutaneous tension can be felt continuously in this intense family drama about a marital crisis. That is not only the merit of director Robert Machoian, but also of the strong performing cast that comes across as natural. A simple, yet powerful film.

Had a hard time with the project. Ultimately, this is much more than "giving each other time and space" because the man lives with his father, the woman openly enters into a new relationship and there are 4 children, including a teenager!
Also the many scenes where the actors are very far from the camera did not help to bring me close to the characters and their characters and those hard blows or bangs were also rather disturbing. Intended to underline the dramatic nature of the man's state of mind? Maybe, because it's actually his story. He who wants to save his marriage and most refrains from his wife's behavior and the lack of his children.
A better scene is the one with the couple in the car, beating their children, as well as the one where the teenage daughter expresses her opinion about the situation... but there are just not enough of them.
And the lock? Nothing seems to have changed. Family still seems to be in shambles to me...

Restrained, small but penetrating drama in which the viewer becomes an intimate part of the relationship crisis. Refreshing that it is lit from the perspective of the man, that made it much more meaningful to me. Strong, powerful, left in the middle of the mess, I love it. A big *3.5
