Qing Gong Mi Shi plot

The film is set during the waning days of the Qing dynasty. The young Emperor Kuang-Hsu does his best to bring China into the modern age. In doing so, however, he is greatly thwarted by the widow of the former emperor. Pressured by his mistress to take a firmer stance, Kuang-Hsu finds himself paralyzed by feelings of loyalty to his family.
