Miss Osaka plot
"Who would you be if you could be anyone?"
Ines accompanies her boyfriend Lucas on a business trip in Norway. There she meets the Japanese Maria, for whom she develops a fascination. When this suddenly disappears, Ines seizes the opportunity to take her place. She declares herself dead, moves to Japan and takes a job at the Miss Osaka nightclub, Maria's former workplace.

Ines doesn't really know where to go, and ends up floating in Japan. Her motives are completely unclear, and get boring quite quickly, just like the stereotypical Japan we see, from capsule hotels to the contemporary version of the geisha. Not badly played, perhaps, and Sonne is also quite a beautiful girl, which helps a bit. But not enough to make the film worthwhile. What might be a nice topic is how the film still feels very Scandinavian despite the setting in Japan. For the enthusiast.
