My goodness, what an irritating, incredibly annoying and meaningless film The Gentlemen is! In fact, after 5 minutes I was completely done with it. Because this movie is a very dull and downright weak attempt to relive the glory days of Guy Ritchie's first 2 movies.

The story is again set up with a gimmick, as we would expect from Mr. Ritchie. But it doesn't work this time because everything that happens is just not interesting enough or predictable.

The plot is not fun, not exciting, the dialogues are endlessly long-winded and boring and the bit of action in it is all as standard as can be.

The Guy Ritchie trademark is also too thick on top of it. And that is counterproductive. The movie just doesn't go well.

Most actors don't care. They just do their best, although I was immensely annoyed by Hugh Grant with his over-acting.

Leave this unnecessary film behind and watch Lock, Stock...and Snatch again. Those films remain good and timeless. The Gentlemen is two hours a waste of your time.

Moderate

I'm afraid that Ritchie has lost it. This movie is boring, easy and above all not funny at all. The main problem with the Phuc joke is its laziness. Not that it's politically incorrect, but it doesn't have any punchline, you can tell from the actors that it won't work. It's a shame because Ritchie usually knew how to add some style to these kinds of movies. But 20 years after Lock Stock and Snatch, he's clearly forgotten.

I also suspect because of the well-known cast that he is a bit out of touch with today's London. I had the idea that he was a bit more in that world in his Lock Stock time. There were also some no names that were cast great at the time. Now the rolls all feel a bit lukewarm. Hugh Grant tries really hard, but seeing him recently in Paddington 2 and the miniseries A Very English Scandal doesn't feel like a superlative, more like a bland gay. McConaughey is always the same, then I would rather have seen a no-name who acts like crazy.

Visually it was all a bit disappointing to me. At times he still has some flair, but often also a bit easy and dull. Also found that James Bond-like musical beginning to be pitiful.

2 stars.

What a very horribly annoying movie. It starts really bad. The images shown with the story of Hugh Grant are very annoying. It doesn't grab me, it doesn't touch me, it's not interesting, it's not funny, it's not exciting, it's not original, it's not funny, it's just nothing at all.

Get rid of it!!!! Waste of our Saturday night. Anyway, luckily I did enjoy the chips and nuts!!!!!
