In an affluent neighborhood, the car thief Ciro has set his sights on an unguarded 4x4. Breaking in turns out to be very easy for the slick and efficient Ciro. Little does he know that his nightmare is about to begin when it becomes clear that he is locked in the all-terrain vehicle.

Street thief Ciro [Peter Lanzani] gains access to the 4x4 from the title with the aim of stealing valuables, but gets locked in. Tinted, soundproof windows also make it impossible to call for help from passers-by. The owner, a hospital doctor who has been the victim of crime 28 times, contacts Ciro by phone in the car in the hope of teaching him a lesson. Filmed entirely inside the car and therefore mainly suitable for a shorter format. It takes a while before it gets going, but Cohn's social criticism does not come at the expense of the tension and Brieva is an intimidating presence. Re-filmed in 2025 with little success as Locked with Alexander Skarsgård and Anthony Hopkins.

A one-location film about a thief who gets trapped in the 4x4 in which he wanted to steal a radio. The owner of the car has no intention of letting him go and leaves the young man starving and dying of thirst for days on end. That bullet in his leg was an extremely idiotic act by Ciro, but in this thriller, there are no good guys or bad guys. That makes the film somewhat special and plays with the perspective you take as a viewer towards both men.
I hoped Ciro would get out of it, and on the other hand, I felt it was his just deserts. Same feeling for the owner: after being robbed 28 times, you can understand the man's vigilante action, but on the other hand, you can't execute one young man for the mistakes of all the other scum who have ever made your life miserable. It's a shame that the whole situation in the car drags on for a full hour and that some time-wasting nonsense is served up. As is often the case, shorter would have been better, but as long as it lasts, it is entertaining. A typical 3* movie for me too.
