Very nice.

Didn't really expect much from it, because this story is usually well known. Usually doesn't immediately yield the most fun films, but somehow I had forgotten that this was actually a full-blooded comedy. Satire that takes a hard look at the eternal and childish political bickering of the Western (online) world. You can poke me for that.

Film also starts nice by switching the main character a few times. For that, a few well-known B-listers are immediately slaughtered. The kills are also pretty rude, not really gross or over-the-top, but there are still a few bodies that are easily blown to pieces.

Thought it was a great film, right up to the finale. Unfortunately, Zobel takes a step back there, it gets a little more serious and we suddenly find ourselves watching an extensive fight. One that is not immediately portrayed very well. It's a shame, because that's where the film misses some potential. But nothing else to complain about. Smooth, rude and funny.

The fuss around this film is of course greatly exaggerated, but Zobel immediately proves his point with that.

3.5*

A really lovely movie. Lots of action, humor, surprises and gore. And what can that Betty Gilpin play, really great; a lovely woman. I rarely give an 8 and this one is well deserved.

The Hunt has apparently caused some controversy, although it also advertises extensively with its poster. In any case, I hadn't noticed it, and to be honest, The Hunt isn't that controversial either. It's a concept we've seen a few times before: rich people preying on poor people, but now in a contemporary guise and with some political satire - a liberal elite who in revenge on rednecks and alt- righters on the internet will actually hunt them down. The political jokes (I would hardly call it satire) about polarization, liberals and republicans are rather bland and don't add much (although the story is liked), but as a horror thriller and especially revenge film, The Hunt is successful. It already starts well when we see a number of potential main characters, who then all die very quickly, but the film really gets off to a good start when Betty Giplin comes into the picture and takes revenge very hard on her attackers. You don't have to be bored for a moment, and somewhat exceptional for this type of film, but the casting is spot on and that mainly thanks to Betty Giplin who really gives the film a face. For an entertaining amount of blood and action, The Hunt is the place to be.
