Witches in the Woods plot

"Evil is waiting for them."

Jill drops out of school and goes snowboarding with friends. They move into a remote area that cannot be found on any map. The group runs out of gas at night and cannot find their way back to civilization. However, that doesn't seem to be their main concern: something or someone is watching the friends.

Especially in view of the low ratings (also at IMDb) a pleasant windfall. You

expected as often dredging, but it turns out that this is not the case. Whereby

the acting is also definitely fair to good. In a limited setting and little

real action, the director has managed to turn it into a pretty fascinating film

where the suction mainly comes from the growing conflicts between a few characters

and there are also soon differences of opinion about how to act in the situation that

has become increasingly complicated. With a constructive approach, actually from the start

already a bit brooding with indications that 'something could be going on which is not in

order'. Maybe here and there with some flaws and incredulities, but it has

the director is able to produce an enigmatic, ominous and attractive film

know how to put it down.

Half.

Horror film that is not necessarily of low quality, but in turn certainly not of high quality. Movies like this come out of nowhere as far as I'm concerned. No one knows where they come from, except that they come and go. In this case it was striking enough to be purchased by Film1.

The biggest takeaway from this movie is clearly the setting. Barker works with the 'small but nice' principle. By that I mean the set-up, of course, because for this film all you need is a stranded car in a snowy setting. Then you have all the puppets dancing and the film hardly needs an explanation.

The great thing about the film is that it is given a lot of audiovisual attention. The cinematography as well as the use of the filters look strong. The acting is also decent despite the lack of breathing space for the crew members. In the beginning there is some development, then the darkness of the film really takes over and from that point on every character disappears completely into the background.

This film mainly goes wrong in the second half, where things escalate. However, the escalation makes a rather boring impression and hardly ever manages to catch on. Before you know it, we're rolling over the story without knowing what exactly the threat is and what makes it so distinctive. The tension is never really well incorporated, but the pressure from the story also causes some internal problems. The first half is very entertaining, then it goes downhill fast.

The film went well. Have seen better but also worse. And who was possessed?
