What Lies Upstream plot
"The truth has been spilled"
Filmmaker and investigative journalist Cullen Hoback travels to West Virginia to uncover the truth behind a massive chemical spill. For months, more than 300,000 people were without drinking water. During his investigation, however, Hoback comes across cover-ups and political crimes and discovers secret agreements between the chemical companies and the highest circles in the government. This puts the entire system to guarantee clean drinking water at risk.
