Apart from the horrifying ending, not much happens in this psychological thriller about a middle-aged woman who creates an almost indispensable place for herself in a young family. You feel on your feet that this will eventually go wrong. In all its vehemence, the ending doesn't come as a complete surprise.

A few months after giving birth to her second child, Myriam [Leila Bekhti] decides to resume her job at a law firm despite the reservations of her husband [Antoine Reinartz]. Their search for a babysitter is concluded when daughter Mila [Assya Da Silva] instantly clicks with Louise [Karin Viard]. It all runs smoothly until Paul's mother Sylvia [Noëlle Renaude] takes over the care of her grandchildren for a while. Takes the time to portray Louise as the 'perfect nanny' from the title with a series of cheerful, sometimes touching scenes with Da Silva and baby Max Patissier, but it does take a while before the thriller elements become visible. As a result, the denouement is also a bit exaggerated.

Film stays very long, too long; stuck in the "sweet" part and then, quite accelerated, ends in the extreme at another extreme.

Of course we understand what kind of woman Louise was - wittily portrayed by Karin Viard - but some clarification would have been appropriate.
