La Paranza dei Bambini plot

"The kids are out to play"

Six boys race their scooters through the narrow streets of their neighborhood in Naples. Nicola, Briati, Lollipop & Co. are fearless daredevils. They want to earn money like their role models, and they wear designer clothes and the latest sneakers. These 15-year-olds use the rooftops of the city to shoot guns at them. They deal in drugs and don't hesitate to use their weapons to take control of the neighborhood.

Piranhas is a strong piece of Italian crime about some teenagers who choose the wrong side of society to celebrate an existence. The film has a good story, good structure and the boys act properly. Well worth a look. Whether the film will stay with you, no, certainly not, but the majority of the films do not do that, so that's fine.

Nice Italian movie about kind of (youth) gangs that have their region in their power. The route of young people that you get to see is extremely fascinating. And that Viviana Aprea, beautiful Yes, I had fun with this.

In itself a fine film about a youth gang that tried to mark its own territory between the other mafia gangs that plague the city of Naples. All in all a smooth film, although I thought it was presented quite simply or simplistic. Still quite incomprehensible that six snot noses hardened adults could just chase away with some pistols? It was the same mafiosi they were still wearing pants for during that robbery in their quarter of the city. And where were the guns of all those other gangs? As if these brats were the only ones with guns. Into the bargain, the group still falls apart with those Striano brothers.

But I can imagine that it is a (transient) jungle with many (unwritten) laws and rules. And the city is also naturally subdivided into a jumble of neighborhoods, each of which exerts a different influence. The common people and traders are all meekly enduring it. That's why the robbery seemed so strange. As if they wanted to take that risk of interfering in a mob-controlled neighborhood.

You can do two things to get ahead, they say at a certain point in the film: Either you become a football player or you enter the criminal world. It is also interesting to note that the web was tightened more and more. I therefore expected more from the real mafiosi and their "give-take" policy once you are in their power, but it didn't come out that way.
