Just the thoughts at "Heavan can wait", but this "Hereafter" is quite different with the girl Sam, played by Sanaa Giwa, who acts disarmingly and charmingly, effortlessly combining submission and love with willpower in her role.

A smooth, imaginative film about death, without being too ponderous. Film also about human weaknesses with dire consequences, which also shows that little can be done about fate, although... Funny appearance of the "officer", who in fact also remained human.

Digestible for young and old.

Death is often seen as a heavy subject, but in this film it is not made too heavy. It's even a colorful film with the colorful clothes, the clear image and all the drawings. The voice-over also brings some lightness to what he says. I think it's a beautiful, special story and I think the acting is good. It didn't completely blow my mind, but I like how it was made and I think it's great when a movie manages to portray death in a way that doesn't make it depressing, and in a way that's also accessible to children. A 7. 3.5*

A year after her mother Vera [Romana Vrede] died after falling from a ladder, 16-year-old Sam [Sanaa Giwa] herself was killed in a collision. She comes face to face with angel/official Martin [Jean-Paul Buijs] who guides her to the afterlife. There she can choose to live her life again, or to reunite permanently with her mother here. But then she leaves behind her father [Gijs Scholten van Aschat] and her brothers. Sam decides to live her life again and, from a very young age, does everything to save her mother from her fateful death. Bosch, who also wrote the screenplay, handles a heavy subject in a light-hearted, but never tasteless way and knows how to maintain the balance between comedy and drama, but the screenplay lacks focus, making the denouement feel a bit like an anti-climax.
