Just reconsidered this one. Brings up some nostalgic feelings and entertains, despite being a bit on the childish side, still fine. Effects are okay, cast is nice and the house has a nice atmosphere with that secret passage etc

This is one of those movies that doesn't bring me back to childhood memories at all, simply because I've never seen it before.

I knew the story from the animation form and in this form it makes for quite a pleasant movie. The effects are a bit outdated here and there, but they do give the whole a nice atmosphere. The story is nice, the jokes are sometimes a bit simple, but especially Pullman does not bad.

The little one thought it was all quite exciting, but it is certainly good to watch for a six-year-old, without it being really scary. There is also plenty to enjoy for adults. Some successful humor, a nice atmosphere and a funny story are sufficient, without having to have any form of youth sentiment.

Cute.

These kinds of movies really marked my childhood. I used to be able to sleep through the night for these kinds of movies. Not that I actually did that, but I would have loved to have done it for movies like Casper. I never see the whole atmosphere of this film coming back properly these days. Pity.

The strength of this film is not in the acting or the content, but especially in what is wrapped around it. That house, for example, is beautifully decorated with striking choices for interior. That's where my nostalgia images came from. If I had been a child, I would have loved to live here. I couldn't get enough of it, and on top of that, it also provides ideal filler for a story like this.

Ricci and Pullman aren't brilliant and the ghosts are even a bit annoying at times, but the pace of the film as well as some jokes and light tones in between ensure that this never serves as a nuisance. The film also does not seem overly moralistic and even uses jokes that would never be able to get through today. I just love this movie more.

It's fun for the family, but for the kids who used to have a lot of fun watching and visiting haunted house attractions, this movie will be even more effective. Perhaps the humor is a bit too easy, but I enjoyed it. Moreover, I was able to appreciate the sentimental finale this time. Fits in with these kinds of movies without losing its character. Nice movie feed.
