Yes, I understand the low numbers. The film is slow, as good as tension-free and relies mainly on the dialogues and the pictures. The sci-fi aspect appeals to me personally. The problem in my view is that the film has a lot of potential, but Helpert lacks the skills to get it out. As a drama, IDE can work very well, but really wrong choices are made. The climax the inevitable goodbye turns out completely wrong, but the whole run-up to it is also wrong. Yet I have seen beautiful things, such as the sets. Hence a six.

Nice movie.

More drama than sci-fi in genre. The sci-fi element is mainly in the setting, but then it's all very lo-fi. So if you're hoping for a real sci-fi or post-apocalyptic film, it's better to skip this one, because it's coming home from a barren trip.

But otherwise interesting enough. The eco-event is also more of a background, the focus here is on the characters and the setting, the latter is especially very atmospheric and the characters are beautifully designed by the two actors. The cast isn't much bigger by the way, which is definitely a plus.

It may be a bit disappointing that the characters seem to be part of a much more exciting and active world, but we as viewers never see anything of that. Seems like a very conscious choice to me, because within a film like this it would just clash with the atmosphere that is being built up.

Nice sci-fi work.

3.5*

Foreign.

Beautiful, small-scale rendering of a dystopian tale. Strangely enough, the film manages to captivate right away, but less and less as the film progresses, to the point where you are a bit lulled into sleep at the end.

There's a lot of fuss about the Exodus mission to be completed and conflicting emotions for Sam, but in the end it all just fizzles out. Perhaps a little too little engaging dialogue and instead a lot of woolly talk. Anyway, I got more and more distracted.

Beautiful setting and sets, decent, fairly subtle acting (especially from Qualley) and atmospheric enough, but in the end I especially think the script falls short. Not an unpleasant seat, but instinctively a fairly long one, eventually. 2.5*
