Nice video. A somewhat more 'ordinary' genre work compared to Dillard's previous film, which still felt a bit more original and fresher in many areas. Fortunately, the performance counts.

Starts as a fairly standard survival film without too much context. Nice build-up, but it only becomes fun when the monster appears. Also looked pretty good, not the most original creature design, but it is portrayed in such a way that it does pose a threat.

Small dip around the middle part in which the two other survivors come into view. That guy's acting was not to be seen, that scene in the tree had a high parody content, I didn't really think it was the intention. But otherwise not a bad snack. 3*

Exciting little film about a young woman (Kiersey Clemons) who washes up on a tropical island after being shipwrecked. She soon discovers that she is not alone. The build-up is stronger than the final climax, especially because the make-up and visual effects are a bit disappointing in the end, but the film certainly has its moments. The fun role of Clemons, the skilled camera work and a handful of creepy moments keep the tension well. Nice electronic score too.

The moment when the protagonist meets for the first time from a great distance

the monster was hit. Mysterious, and totally unexpected...

Every night after that she gets a visit from the monster, when several scenes are best

be exciting. The fact that most scenes take place in pitch dark here is also anything but

a nuisance: You saw just enough, and at last it became (With the fire present) even

effectively exploited. The least part is evident when the two other survivors

come to the fore. Annoying bickering and rather unbelievable behavior from those two.

Fortunately, things get more interesting later when the protagonist decides to take the

to compete with the returning visitor.

An atmospheric horror film with enough scenes to hold the attention. Though you stay

with a question: I think I had the monster with the leading lady for a long time

as if she were a toy to him.
