Not a bad film to watch, started with low expectations and then it turns out to be okay. Simple title for a simple action film meant for simple souls who don't want to make things too difficult for themselves. They could have called it Robocop 4 or 5, the technological developments are presented in Battle Drone as if it were something very spectacular, but in fact we have already seen this better in the eighties thanks to Verhoeven. In previous decades you had countless copies of this type of straightforward action film at the local video store, but director Gould has to admit that his contemporary version looks less sloppy and a bit more exciting than that production back then. Acceptable B film.

This could really be a typical Action / Science Fiction movie made by Netfilx, but that is not the case. The story is quite simple and clichéd, namely a group of experienced mercenaries led by Vincent Rekker (Louis Mandylor) is betrayed by the American government and must find their way out of an ambush, where they are attacked by a deadly team of high-tech combat robots.

Although it's all not very special and indeed comes across as a B-movie, this film still managed to entertain me because there is a lot of action in it (very regularly, perhaps a bit too much, also shown in slow motion) and also because the various experienced mercenaries (who by the way do not kill anyone) are quite nice characters (with different skills and they also provide the necessary black humor) and among them is also a handsome sniper, namely Valkyrie (Natassia Malthe). Because the pace is quite high and also quite a lot happens in it (sometimes even exciting) and the film only lasts about 90 minutes, it never becomes boring or annoying.

All in all an entertaining explosive Action / Science Fiction film, with the necessary suspense, adrenaline and black humor.

A group of mercenaries with a military background led by Vincent Reikker [Louis Mandylor] are ordered to travel to Chernobyl to guard a weapons shipment. There, the team comes face to face with nearly indestructible combat robots (hence the title) and Reikker quickly realizes that his team is just guinea pigs in a life-threatening experiment. With hackneyed editing tricks, Gould tries to make something of the action scenes in this poorly written, silly science fiction thriller full of equally hackneyed characters and dialogues. Completely worthless.
