I had somewhat hoped for a reenactment of Mata Hari's famous (infamous?) dance, but the few seconds that the documentary shows don't really convey the magic. Nor do the talking heads and the old photos. A little more inspiration would have quickly made the story much more interesting - and Mata Hari certainly deserved that. To dismiss such an untamed and unconventional person with such a standard documentary can only be called a missed opportunity.
