"When his dream for American became a nightmare"
Martin Luther King Jr. is followed in this film through the final years of his life through the personal stories of those around him: from the passing of the Voting Rights Act in 1965 to his assassination in 1968. This period, which has largely been left out of the history books, offers a clear insight into King's character. A man who did everything he could not to use violence in a country that was becoming more unstable by the day.
