Portrait of the famous late comedian and film actor Robin Williams (1951-2014), largely told through himself. The viewer gets an insight into his extraordinary life and career. How I miss Robin Williams.

Not all his films were equally good, but that man made me laugh.

This documentary gives you an idea of the man behind the smile.

With background stories, interviews with his friends, ex-wife, son etc.

For almost 2 hours you are taken into the story of and with Robin Williams and it gives you a realistic view and not just the funny jolly side.

He was a special comedian and it is such a shame that he took his own life. I would have preferred to see another comedy special or a film of his instead of this documentary.

Good documentary about comedian and actor Robin Williams. Naturally, his successful career is discussed a lot. But attention is also certainly paid to his private life (which does not avoid his tragic death). A lot of archive material where Robin Williams' talent is clearly visible.

The cooperation of Robin Williams' relatives lends extra credibility to this portrait of the inimitable, exceptionally talented, but suffering from a serious inferiority complex, Robin Williams. His early years as a theater actor are discussed extensively and Zenovich carefully uses a wealth of footage of Williams in series or during his one-man shows and seems to show that Williams used his performances to express his deepest emotions and darkest thoughts while guise of comedy. His improvised speech during an awards ceremony with Jack Nicholson and Daniel Day-Lewis in particular has a gloomy character, given today's knowledge. A worthy portrait of a tormented multi-talent who tried with all his might to compensate for his feeling of inferiority, but in vain. Penetrating, impressive and moving.
