In 1984, John McEnroe was the best tennis player in the world. He turned his technique into an art: he didn't hit as hard as some of his competitors, but he managed to take the ball faster than his opponent. He rarely waited for the attack and had a good volley. He had to face Ivan Lendl in the final of the Roland Garros. This movie is about that match.

Constructed from archival footage by a rather unique French filmmaker and almost entirely focused on the Roland Garros final.
The aesthetic is rather intellectual / arthouse, with voice-over by the usual suspect Mathieu Amalric.
Mainly something for the fans, and I am not one of them.
