Alan, in his sixties, has a son Michael who disappeared years ago and a son and son-in-law with whom he does not have a good relationship. Still, he thinks he can put all this right. He enters the house and life of his son Peter and does not know that he causes pain and chaos. He forces his grandson into a game of scrabble and becomes obsessed with the idea of communicating through word games.
