Padman plot
The film tells the story of resourceful entrepreneur Arunachalam Muruganantham. He had never thought about periods. Until he saw the filthy cloths that his young wife was busy with every month. But sanitary pads were way too expensive, his wife explained. If she bought that, she would only be able to afford half of the milk. His wife is therefore his source of inspiration to make sanitary napkin hygiene a priority in India. Ultimately, his innovative ideas lead to an international concept: the "sanitary pad disposal machine".
