The Bastard plot
One day a Frisian bicycle mechanic receives the unlikely message that he has an Ethiopian half-brother. His name is Daniel and he is incarcerated on a death row in Addis Ababa. That news is the starting point of a staggering family history. About an outcast child who grows up for gallows and wheels, and an elderly father who can no longer escape his now grown-up bastard son. Daniel holds a great grudge and craves the recognition. But his father doesn't want to hear about it, even if it is because Daniel is black. A DNA test condemns them to each other. And then it turns out that father and son have more in common than they would ever like to admit.
