"They need to find themselves before they can find each other"
Erik is a young writer who is very dependent on his girlfriend Joanna. The couple travels to Thailand. Their relationship is on the brink of collapse, an attempt to save their relationship comes to nothing and they decide to break up. Erik travels alone through Thailand as he battles his loneliness and his inability to take care of himself. Meanwhile, Joanna reunites with her childhood friend David. A chance encounter with three backpackers opens up the world to Erik and changes his life forever.
