I really don't get this mean and the comments. In fact, I really thought it was one hell of a movie! It managed to get under my skin and the pace was very effective. Thought it was pretty creepy at times, even though I'm pretty seasoned. A touch of horror was there, although it is not indicated here. Very original story too. The acting was also really good. (Thomas Jane is always good and I would like to see that woman from Deadwood more often). Way better than Gerald's Game btw.

Oh and renzoroy you forgot the Mist. ? (Although that film is not equally liked by everyone).

Good.

Not bad at all actually, again a film that is insufficiently average and still not too bad. This is another case that makes me scratch my head a bit. This was a great windfall in its genre.

Unexpectedly good role from Jane, I sometimes thought his accent was just spoken by someone else, but I think this is all Jane. Very convincing, gruff farmer. Parker does a convincing job at being annoying too, and Schmid is a great fill-in.

Film seems to last longer, admittedly, but that doesn't make it a bad thing. Starts somewhat typical, thought the first half hour was the least, but then the story takes a turn including the murder and this drama/thriller starts to bounce off the horror.

The atmosphere during the horror scenes is excellent. Excellent "sounds" that make it all a bit more exciting and intense. Atmospheric shots of the house, rooms and furniture. You will feel very unsafe in Jane's shoes and that comes across really well.

Not really boring anywhere, except that the first half hour is done more often and the end tends to the long-winded, but I didn't find it really boring anywhere. Everything is presented with enough atmosphere to be exciting or ominous.

Beautiful sets too, gray cities, snowy areas or warm farms, everything is in order in this film. Too bad the film never really wants to be a horror, despite some spooky scenes. With a little more horror this would undoubtedly have been better and a little less drama or mystery in it.

Nice Stephen King, don't let the average hold you back.
