As well-meaning the movie is undoubtedly, this is not a good movie.

The first part is still going, although the acting of the side characters here is also cringe-inducing, but the emotions of who it is about seem genuine. Then the film swoops down into the sea.

The justice drama is dramatic. From the casting drips who is good and especially who is bad. Rarely seen such a sneaky-looking lawyer and witness. We learn nothing about the motives of the perpetrators and we see the verdict coming for miles, so much the opposite is constantly emphasized. The judge who floats into the courtroom in slow motion at the end is good for a giggle.

And then the third and last part with a leading role for a white wagtail. Clumsy at its best, unworthy of even a failed boy and girl adventure book.

It's a pity. This director can do much better, he has proven.

Auf der others Seite and Gegen die Wand managed to impress me. Soul Kitchen was nice, but nothing more. This fourth film that I see from this director is again successful. The film does not reach the level of the first two films mentioned, but the story is captivating from start to finish with a sense of realism. No exaggerated fuss or revenge, but just a gloomy well-constructed story that consists of three parts. You could name those three parts as follows: total destruction, hope for justice and revenge. You never know where the director will lead with his story and that in itself is a masterstroke . In addition, the excellent acting of Diane Kruger and what to say Johannes Krisch as the lawyer who gets the blood under the nails of Kruger and her lawyer. Great annoying character! The ending comes across gloomy, but given the development of the main character and the course of the story, it can be called very successful. 7.5/10

Very strong, the edge of my seat was continuously occupied. It's clever if you consider that the basic fact is no more than a simple revenge story, but it is the striking storytelling, the link to current events, the self-assured directing and the rock-solid acting that make this such an intriguing viewing experience. In American hands, such a storyline would almost certainly have resulted in yet another pulp film, but as a European it makes me a little proud that we manage to get more out of it here. Extra compliment to Kruger, who could never convince me like this before, but here gives away her best role ever, simply great. Wunderbar, très bien.
