Mindhorn plot
"It's truth time!"
Richard Thorncroft is a British TV actor who rose to fame in the late 1980s for his charismatic lead role in the Isle of Man detective Mindhorn, a character with a robotic eye who could literally see "the truth". But after he becomes a little pompous and arrogant, insulting both his colleagues and his beloved Patricia Wogan on live TV, he decides to leave for Hollywood. 25 years later, he's a balding man living in a North London flat and recently replaced as the face for an orthopedic sock ad. But then he unexpectedly gets a chance to revive his career.
