Secret Summer plot
Rachel is an appraiser by profession. One day she hears that one of her customers wants to buy a much-loved library in a small California town. He wants to demolish the library and build a resort there. Rachel doesn't feel like flying to California, but her boss tells her to go anyway. Once there, she goes to the library. She meets Jake, a writer who is writing a new book. Mrs. Archer, the librarian, wants Jake to make it clear to Rachel that the library is indispensable to the villagers. Rachel comes to the conclusion that this is indeed the case and does everything in her power to save the library.
