Heartbreak Hotel plot
"A rock and roll fantasy."
Johnny Wolfe, a rock 'n' roller, is tired of his boring life and makes a drastic decision. He will kidnap none other than Elvis Presley and let him live in his house. With this plan he tries to help his mother out of her dream world and to brighten up the boring life in the neighborhood. Not only Johnny's mother emerges from her dream world, Elvis is also confronted with the harsh reality and especially with herself.

Much better than I expected. Rock 'n roll fantasy about Elvis Presley who is kidnapped by teenager Johnny, and then brings light to the family and the village. The King is not put to shit at all as claimed here. On the contrary, the whole film looks at him with a tender look, makes him extremely sympathetic and seems to want to say that behind the facade of the myth there is even an ordinary person. Alice Cooper on the other hand....
It is of course a pure fiction born from a "what if" idea. I'm not into Elvis but I've been smiling the whole second half with the whole romance around the man's status. David Keith did a good job here: he has rehearsed the moves well and the Elvis character seems to genuinely enjoy being out of the spotlight for a while among the common people. Still a very nice fairy tale full of feel-good moments. Goose bumps when Elvis performs a song at the top of the stairs for Johnny's enchanted mother.

Nice feel - good fantasy film about the kidnapping of Elvis by a boy who more or less wants to cheer up his mother with her childhood idol ( the fact that mamma made quite a mess of her life is rather nonchalantly brushed aside ) .
Gradually a more or less warm relationship develops between Elvis and the family .
