Qingshui Li De Daozi plot
In a mountain village in Ningxia, China, where the Hui people live, the wife of the old Majishan dies. His family decides to conduct a purification ceremony called Nazer, which, according to the Hui tradition, is to take place 40 days after the funeral. To do this, they have to kill a cow, but Majishan doesn't want this because the cow is almost like family to him.
