They are essentially trying to apply the same kind of trick as with the original film, but unfortunately, the "shock value" is somewhat diminished with this installment. Erika Blanc (The Devil's Nightmare, Operazione Paura) does everything she can to get her young son out of the clutches of a group of deranged and fanatical witch hunters.
Just like with the original film, they try to shock the audience by incorporating a number of violent, gory scenes (the "bloody leg scene" is, in my opinion, the most successful). But this time, we also get a (very) little bit of nunsploitation. For instance, a nun frantically brandishes a whip once again, and we see a shaven-headed young lady appear as a nun.
Such exploitation still manages to captivate me, but otherwise, this was a somewhat dull repetition of the original film.
I would therefore rather refer enthusiasts of this type of cinema to the original.
