Wow.WOW
After review, I hereby increase my vote by half a star.
Because this film is worth it twice over, what a wonderful masterpiece.
The action is top notch, the blows are hard and the bullets are realistic.
And then that wonderful cowboy atmosphere that is poured over it makes it complete

Close Range is the kind of film where it becomes clear that if you don't invest in good acting, the outcome is also doomed.

War veteran and would-be 'samurai/bandit' Colton MacReay [Scott Adkins] commits a bloodbath to save his niece Hailey [Madison Lawlor] from the clutches of Mexican cartel leader Fernando Garcia [Tony Perez]. Not happy about the death of his nephew Victor [Ray Diaz] in the process, Garcia enlists the help of corrupt sheriff Calloway [Nick Chinlund] to take care of Colton before he gets Hailey and her mother Angela [Caitlin Keats] to safety. The scenario is full of contradictions and is nothing more than an excuse for more bloodshed and chases. Adkins relies on his looks and fighting skills, not on charisma or acting talent.
