Entertaining.

Never read the books, that whole mashup craze has passed me by a bit. But when a movie like this is thrown into my lap, I'm willing to give it a try. Have to say it was still pretty good.

Well put together a bit better than I expected. It is certainly not the pure cheapness that a title like this suggests, on the other hand you should not expect real genre work or blockbuster quality, the film is somewhere in between.

Also in terms of atmosphere. It is all very light-hearted, but the mix of genres never really wants to become one. There are quite a few funny and memorable scenes in it, but they float a bit in a sea of half-baked ideas. It all went smoothly, but in the end I never got very excited about the film.

So nice for once. As far as I'm concerned, they should have made a few more similar films, but it's definitely not great.

A wonderful guilty pleasure with a mix between two genres that you wouldn't expect together. Reminds me of Cowboys & Aliens when western and SF meet (not in the form of Westworld...). The clash of the two genres is not obvious and nevertheless it finds the right tone in between. It certainly has more fun than many episodes of The Walking Dead.

Visually, it's better than you'd expect from this kind of movie. Appropriate sets and costuming with surprisingly a larger budget than this type of film normally gets. The better B-actors play along and the whole ensures that it becomes a wonderful film for lovers of the genre (as far as this would be its own genre). I do want to see more of these mashups. Certainly with the same quality that does not make for top films, but for the better B-movies.

“My daughters are trained for battle, sir, not the kitchen.”

Nice. A strong script, sharp dialogues, humor, action, romance, beautiful sets and costumes, zombies and Lily James as a corset-wearing and resolute zombie killer... What more could you want? Of course it's ridiculous to combine zombies with Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, but luckily the makers realize this too.

The material is approached with a wink, and the most important thing is that the razor-sharp dialogues come across well and are spoken by actors who are clearly having fun. Especially the bickering between Sam Riley (Mr. Darcy) and Lily James does not get boring quickly. In the beginning, the film still has some trouble explaining everything and getting started, but once that is over, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies doesn't slow down anymore.
