The Prince and the Pauper plot
England, 1537. By a twist of fate, two boys who are almost identical are born a few minutes apart in London. Tom Canty sees the light of day in a family of poor men, while the other is born Edward Tudor, the Prince of Wales. Both boys grow up unaware of each other's existence, but long to escape their environment. The prince wants to get out of the palace's protective bubble and be able to associate with boys his own age. Tom longs for good food, a safe place to sleep and a solid education to get ahead in life. When the boys meet by chance, they decide to temporarily switch places.
