Prachtige film. Ik werd destijds al zo gegrepen door het verhaal toen ik het boek las en dat is nu opnieuw het geval. Zuzovsky is speels en mysterieus als Lucia. Je snapt gelijk waarom Casanova (die zelf overigens ook niets tekort komt aan charisma) zo door haar bevangen raakt. Beiden acteren zeer naturel en er is daardoor een enorme chemie voelbaar tussen de twee. Dit alles is mooi geschoten in sfeervolle decors, waar ook de kostuums aan bijdragen. Een extra vermelding wil ik maken van de muziek want die is gewoonweg fenomenaal.
