Jason McCord, a former captain in the United States cavalry, is scarred for life after being found guilty of cowardice by a court-martial. He is the sole survivor of the Battle of Bitter Creek and is blamed for the death of General Reed who did die in the battle. He's now trying to make sure he can prove he's not a coward.
