De Partizanen plot

The Partisans is inspired by the curious events that took place in the North Limburg forests during the Second World War. In view of the liberation, a group of resistance fighters makes more than thirty Germans prisoners of war. When the Gestapo learns of their venture, they are forced to flee from hideout to hideout with the prisoners.

Successful miniseries about the resistance in the final phase of the Second World War. Capturing a group of Germans might not have been that difficult then, but then the trouble starts, because where do you go with it? The Limburg accent and the unadorned style give a credible picture of these truth-based entanglements. The Dutch are not portrayed as saints, and the "krauts" are not portrayed as stereotypical villains. At times it gets philosophical. The framework with older people looking back in the present works well.
