Season 2 of the documentary America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders is also about the annual recruitment and training of - ultimately - 36 cheerleaders who provide the prestigious fringe program of the American football club the Dallas Cowboys. This superficial repetition exercise ('Yes ma'am'), comparable to a series like America's Next Top Model, offers a glimpse into the psyche of the interchangeable rookies and veterans. Even when underpayment or mental problems of the cheerleaders are discussed, America's Sweethearts remains tame and for the stage. In this way, more of the same ultimately becomes just a little less worthwhile.
