American Crime Story plot

American Crime Story tells the stories of world famous crime cases that caused a lot of controversy. Simpson's case is seen from the perspective of the lawyers who negotiate behind the scenes and maneuver between both sides of the court. A combination of prosecution confidence, defense cunning and history with the LAPD's African-American community gives the jury what it needed: reasonable doubt. The murder of fashion giant Gianni Versace was also widely discussed in the press and left more than enough questions for everyone involved.

Thrilling series. The mixture of real images and new camera work works out well here. The story itself is of course known, but the makers have succeeded in retelling a known history in a very strong way. What struck me most is that every actor was cast well. David Schwimmer works at his best when he looks constantly stunned and upset, John Travolta works great as a top-notch bastard, Cuba Gooding Jr. plays the ideal megalomaniac athlete (who sometimes doesn't seem to get it completely) and Sarah Paulson excels as a particularly assertive woman in a dog-eat-dog world. And then I forget Courtney B. Vance. Great storytelling style that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the denouement, even if you may already know the denouement.

A highlight for acting on TV. Yes, the directing and camera work are great, but it's the acting that makes this series so good. Sarah Paulson and Courtney B. Vance can be considered the main protagonists, and they make it difficult for viewers to choose sides. The series lets you, just like the jury at the time, determine what the truth is. Something that is difficult to do as a filmmaker.

We also see some big names in this series who really shine: Cuba Gooding Jr., Bruce Greenwood, David Schwimmer and John Travolta. The latter in particular surprised me. However, the character I liked best was Christopher Darden, played by Sterling K. Brown. you clearly saw the struggle between doing his job right and not wanting to betray his race. A very complex character, very well executed.

In terms of story, I sometimes found it a bit too slow and too boring, you will certainly find that if you already know the verdict of the jury. I'm very curious to see what Ryan Murphy can do next season, probably with Lady Gaga in the lead. Hopefully this series will keep its quality and not become a second American Horror Story.

Good series with excellent acting, but it still caused me a lot of annoyance, but the series itself can't do anything about that.

I would rather not have heard of this black football player who committed a murder. And I emphasize his skin color, because some kind of affirmative action has let him get away with a murder. What a dirty game played by Johnny Cochran in particular. Sad for the bereaved.

Only in America shall we say.

They better get rid of a jury asap.

Hopefully in season 2 slightly more sympathetic characters.
