Lily and Abby are twin sisters. Their lives are turned upside down when Lily is abducted from their quiet, rural English town by beloved local teacher Rick Hansen. After years of abuse in captivity, Lily escapes—only to discover that freedom brings its own challenges. The world she longed to return to has moved on without her. While Abby, Lily, and their mother, Eve, struggle to rebuild their family, Rick remains at large, determined to stay in control and evade justice.

Best een aangename serie, die eigenlijk wel enkele afleveringen te lang was. De eerste 2 afleveringen waren de beste, maar dan zakte het wel een beetje in vond ik. Het acteren was meer dan degelijk zeker van Alfie Allen, die trouwens de broer is van Lily Allen, de bekende zangeres. Wel enkele foutjes. Het safehouse is op wandelafstand van de hut waar Lilly werd vastgehouden, natuurlijk onmogelijk. En de serie speelt zich zogezegd af in een klein Engels dorpje. Dat zie je zo dat dit absoluut niet Engeland is. Is allemaal opgenomen in het prachtige Spaanse Baskenland. Sommige vergelijken het met de prachtige serie Adolescence, maar dat is toch teveel eer. Goed, maar niet fantastisch

A pretty enjoyable series, though it was actually a few episodes too long. The first two episodes were the best, but then it slumped a bit, I thought. The acting was more than solid, especially from Alfie Allen, who, incidentally, is the brother of Lily Allen, the famous singer.

There are a few errors. The safe house is within walking distance of the cabin where Lilly was being held, which is obviously impossible.

And the series is supposedly set in a small English village. It's immediately clear that this is absolutely not England. It's all filmed in the beautiful Spanish Basque Country.

Some compare it to the wonderful series Adolescence, but that is too much of an honor.
