CHANSONS! plot

Matthijs van Nieuwkerk and Rob Kemps introduce the viewer to the music of Édith Piaf, Jacques Brel, Serge Gainsbourg and Charles Aznavour in this musical four-part about love, life and melancholy. Together they stroll through the streets of Paris in search of the stories behind the 'chanson'. During their journey of discovery, we see Paris through the eyes of Rob and Matthijs, the city to which both are so attached.

CHANSONS! season 1

Hardly gets past the clichés about Paris and chansons and, moreover, seems a bit hastily put together.
Mainly depends on the sympathetic presenters and the allure of the people portrayed.
