Locke & Key plot

After their father is murdered in mysterious circumstances, the remaining members of the Locke family - three siblings and their mother - move to their ancestral home, Keyhouse. They discover that it is full of magical keys that may be related to their father's death. As the Locke children explore the various keys and their unique powers, a mysterious demon awakens - who will do anything to steal them.

Erg vermakelijk en leuk om weg te kijken. Maar veel te soft voor iets wat door Netflix als 16+ wordt gerate. Eén kleine aanpassing en het had al 9+ kunnen zijn. Een erg zwakke slechterik en matig acteerwerk. Alles ging veel te gemakkelijk. Het had allemaal wel beter gemogen. Het verhaal is naar mijn mening niet genoeg benut, want het heeft alle potentie voor een actievol fantasie avontuur, net als de film Goosbumps maar dan in serie vorm. Het was ging in het begin erg traag en dan komen halverwege alle geheimen ineens naar buiten. Slechts één plottwist wist mij te interesseren en het eind was misschien een beetje een anticlimax, vanwege de voorspelbaarheid binnen de context van de situatie. Kinderlijk en leuk voor een bingewatch weekend, met ruimte voor een tweede seizoen. Maar een echte goede serie wil ik het niet noemen.

Very entertaining and fun to watch. But way too soft for something that Netflix rates as 16+. One small adjustment and it could have been 9+ already. A very weak villain and mediocre acting. Everything went way too easy. It all could have been better. The story has not been used enough in my opinion, because it has all the potential for an action-packed fantasy adventure, just like the movie Goosbumps but in series form. It was very slow in the beginning and then halfway through all the secrets suddenly come out. Only one plot twist caught my attention and the ending was perhaps a bit anticlimactic due to its predictability within the context of the situation.

Childish and fun for a bingewatch weekend, with room for a second season. But I wouldn't call it a really good series.

Meh, veel meer van verwacht. Vond het nogal een kinder/tienerserie. Beetje Disney feel to it. Muziek is ook veel te blij. Verhaal vond ik ook niet zo bijzonder bedacht. Snap de hype niet zo.

Meh, expected a lot more. It's kind of a kids/teenager series. Bit of a Disney feel to it. Music is also way too happy. I didn't think the story was that special either. Don't get the hype.

Wat een verschrikkelijke baggerserie. Zo onlogisch. Zo slecht geacteerd. Negen van de tien keer domme acties, waarbij je mijlenver ziet aankomen wat er gaat gebeuren. Te eng voor een kinderserie, wat het qua niveau wel is. Geen idee wat de doelgroep is, maar ik hoor er overduidelijk niet bij. Ik denk dat ik betere dingen te doen heb dan seizoen 2 gaan kijken. Langdurig met mijn hoofd tegen een muur bonken ofzo.

What a horrendous dredge series. So illogical. Acted so badly. Nine times out of ten stupid actions, where you see what's going to happen miles away. Too scary for a children's series, which it is in terms of level. I have no idea what the target audience is, but I clearly don't belong. I think I have better things to do than watch season 2. Banging my head against a wall for a long time.
