Women of the Movement plot

The series is based on the true story of Mamie Till-Mobley, who risked her life in 1955 to find justice after her son Emmett was brutally murdered in the Jim Crow South. Mamie didn't want to let Emmett's murder disappear from the news and chose to bear her pain on the world stage. She became a justice activist and spearheaded the civil rights movement as we know it today.
