Mary Carson, owner of a large sheep farm, falls in love with Pastor Ralph de Briccasart. But he has his eye on Meggie Cleary, Mary's niece. When it turns out that Ralph doesn't return her love, Mary hatches plans that will seal his fate; even from the grave.
